What I'm about to share with you is pretty sick. But it's the same mentality that allows the NRA to think making a pitch for less assault rifle regulation on the one-week anniversary of a child massacre is a good idea.
Susan Shannon has thousands of followers. Long story short, (from her bio), she claims to be a reformed liberal who was ignorant until 9/11 and then became a "news junkie" who became informed---by watching FoxNews nonstop. (Proof it does rot your brain.)
Now she runs a blog, Short Little Rebel, which is "dedicated to seeing the political landscape through the lens of Christianity" and claims to call out to Jesus everyday.
Poor Jesus. I'm sure he deserves better followers than this.
URGENT UPDATE on Connecticut Shooting
Friends, there is a gift that God has given me: I can smell something fishy a mile away. Like Benghazi. Almost on day one, I told my husband: “The facts don’t make sense. Something is wrong here.”
I'll spare you the details of all of her garbage. Something about a second shooter in the grassy knoll and LIBOR connection (seriously) that goes all the way to the top. You
can read it all here if you are inclined.
The bottom line is that SHE COULD NOT BELIEVE that this kid used LEGALLY REGISTERED firearms to kill the children.
No. That can't be. Crazy people can't get access to guns! That would mean that we would need gun control.
It killed me that this wack-job used LEGALLY REGISTERED weapons to do his killing. There is NO OTHER CONCLUSION, if the story is accurate, than the fact that had Adam Lanza NOT had access to those legal guns, he could never have killed those kids. He was too mentally ill to have gotten those weapons himself. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and we now know that he had many, many interventions by school officials in the past. I felt that the killing of little children would be the strongest argument yet that we should clamp down on gun ownership. I just couldn’t believe the TIMING and circumstances of this event- a GIFT to the Progressives to disarm us. Who can argue with this case? I was ready for the inevitable.
And so it was. A self-proclaimed "Christian" not lamenting once about the slaughter of small kids, but the fact that she might have to live in a world that gives background checks to prevent mentally ill or violent crimianls from purchasing heavy artillery. An America that might somewhat limit, but not really, high capacity magazines and rifles.
Oh the sheer horror. But at least she seemed to have a moment of logic where a killer of small children who used legally registered weapons might just be a justified catalyst for at least some measure of gun control.... but then her warped mind took a different turn:
I believe our GOVERNMENT shot those kids and teachers and used Adam Lanza and his family to pull it off. They might have killed two birds with one stone. One: If these men are involved in the LIBOR scandal, they can manipulate their testimony. Two: they get gun control. How very, very clever and efficient of them, right?
Sick, yes?
I was surprised she didn't mention any UN involvement, as I thought was mandatory for all right-wing NRA whackjobs, but then she remarked that she couldn't help but notice the "timing and circumstances of the tragedy as concerns the upcoming UN small arms treaty". (And I thought "THERE it is")
What was really disappointing was to read the hundreds of commments agreeing her genius. OF COURSE it was the government. OF COURSE it was the UN. Surely WE are not responsible for this tragedy???
(Feel free to leave a comment on her site, but she won't post it. Although she promises to post other points of view you won't find any... just hundreds of fellow NRA "Christians". Jesus must be so proud.)
Knowing the mentality I'm dealing with, the only comment I posted on her site was one suggesting that the government must be extremely efficient to pull this off. For the NRA self-proclaimed "Christian", there is almost nothing more offensive.
And that is the problem.
