Tagging tips - Search For Tags - Browse For Tags

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    So here's some filler:

A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was at the checkout line at the grocery store. There on a peg on that last-minute rack was a bag of little Mayan doomsday toys molded in those bright happy plastic primary and secondary colors. There were a couple of priests and a peasant with blocky Play-Skool bodies and smiley bulb heads. That monolithic calendar was reduced to a happy magenta smiley with blocky squiggles around it.

We survived the mini-apocalypse at casa blue jersey. A tree fell on our house at about 4:15 yesterday morning. We have a contractor who will remove the tree on Monday, and then the repair work starts. My insurance will pay for the damage, which is extensive.

I got a few paypal notices this morning and it appears that I bought subscriptions for three thousand one hundred and forty one trolls in the expectation of not paying.

What my day will consist of, making the following

    Homemade Irish Cream

    Into a blender add:

1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk

(Use the can as a measure)

    1 can 1/2 and 1/2

1 can Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey (or other Irish Whiskey if you can't find Tully. Give every man his Dew!)

1 heaping tablespoon Cafe Vienna instant coffee mix

    1 tablespoon chocolate syrup

    1 teaspoon butter flavoring

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Blend until smooth

    Taste again

If there is any left, refrigerate

Thankfully the liquor stores are open all weekend

Thanks to Ottery Scribe, I've been reading some of the diaries from user, shortfinals.  Here is his latest: 'Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night...

I love his posts.  They are like mini history lessons with the added bonus of one of his personal photographs which are stunning.

Have a great day, everybuddy ;~D

  •  Giving credit to a Miami GOP Congresswoman (6+ / 0-)

Congresswoman Illeana Ros-Lehtinen won release yesterday for Marine veteran Jon Hammar from the Mexican prison he'd unjustly been held in since August - he'd been arrested at a border crossing after he tried to declare a dissembled antique shotgun.

Though many officials have their fingerprints on Hammar's release -- notably Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sens. Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio -- without a doubt the star of the show is Ros-Lehtinen.

The Miami Republican used her indomitable spirit and guile, plus her position as chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to put pressure on U.S. and Mexican authorities.

Good job, congresswoman.  You brought him home in time for Christmas.

  •  Coffee and Lots of It (1+ / 0-)

Really tired and out of it at the moment. Doing the coffee and lots of it thing. I get my coffee at Target now because their Archer's Farm brand has so many neat flavor and they contribute to Save Our Children. Plus my local Target is a designated Safe House for children to go to. Doing Candy Cane coffee at the moment.

I'll need to swing by my niece's place and get her presents that need to be wrapped. She has been real sick along with everyone in her household. So I guess I'm not done with Christmas yet. Also need to brave Wal-Mart and get the stuff to make Christmas dinner.

Other then that I've been back to working on art. It is the first time since we lost my brother at the end of August that I have actually been inspired to do any art. If Jupiter were as close to us as our moon this would be what we would see in our sky.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's passing.  Sad this first major holiday without him.  {{{Hugs}}} for the heavy heart that will come at the most unexpected moments.

Thank you for telling me about Archer Farms.  I have tried a few of Target's coffees and it's important to know they support a worthy cause.  That will be my brand of choice now too.
