This could be bad news. Sen. Joe Lieberman just said on C-Span that "no deal is the worst deal". Translated: that means the Democrats (or at least Joe Lieberman) are prepared to accept any deal, even a bad deal, rather than go over the fiscal cliff.
Lieberman specifically rejected the phrase heard over and over the last few days - that "no deal is better than a bad deal".
If that has been the Senate Democrats' mindset - that they have to reach any deal, no matter how bad a deal, rather than go over the cliff - the outcome could be problematic. We'll know in a few hours or a day.
