How sweet it is, for once, Congress, and those connected to it, are functioning in the way they were designed, and the Republicans are having a "fit." This is so counter to their pledge to keep President Obama's presidency dysfunctional.  In affect, the Republican's role in the last 4 years have been to only say no to any and everything Obama. How long will the GOP continue to work in a productive formate?

When will the Republicans return to their, now silent, comment to keep our president's work dysfunctional? From the looks of things, they were fighting and screaming just to keep the poor and middle class from financial hardship. At one point, John Boehner resorted to a high school back of the bus mentality by giving Harry Reid the finger.

Do we ask Congress to act as they were intended? Or, having already sent the message to function as you were designed, do we demand they work with our Black President? No matter what happens, in 2014 we will have the chance to send the dysfunction packing and removed. While it is not time to say "happy days are here again," there is some light over the horizon.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

There is one group of people who will not be hurt by this: The Republican's rich. They can still make their car notes, make any groceries, and make their county club dues. Yes, they will be taxed at a higher rate, but they can take it ten fold. The Republicans are playing a game, but the poor and middle class are not enjoying their sick game play. In 2014, we get to return the favor in the same sick way they did.
