How are you? I am getting over bronchitis. The sun is shining but it was only 23.7 °F when I got up at daylight this morning.
In the past week I have been here and there. Have camera, will travel. ;) I was very honored to have been invited to Oregon Gal's Goat Milk Dairy Farm in Alsea Oregon. I got the grand tour while visiting with her and mamafairie.
Join me over the squiggle for some photos.
My journey began along the pass through Philomath Oregon to Alsea.
Along the way there was trucks and cars parked along the highway near bridges so I stopped to see what was going on.
Fishermen were all along the Alsea River. I would later learn that it was the first day of Fishing Season and the fishermen were fishing for Steelhead Trout.
The scenery is just beautiful.
Once I arrived at Oregon Gal's dairy, I was greeted by her working dogs. They herd and protect her goats.
This big guy was unsure of me and I him. I love big fluffy woozles. This big guy is all business when it comes to protecting his herd.
Here he wanted Oregon Gal to play. See his big smile!
Time to get back to work.
The tour begins:
Goat milking area.
Where the magic begins.
Fresh cheese in the making.
Oregin Gal rolled out the red carpet. She treated mamafairie and I to her homemade Dutch Baby made with fresh goat's milk.
A bit later Oregon Gal and mamafairie showed me around Alsea.
John Boy's appeared to be the biggest business along Main Street.
John Boy's offers hardware, fishing and hunting supplies and a hot food deli.
Hunting trophies hang on the walls.
