FACT:;In Chico you can't tell the weather by looking out the window at what the "kids" are wearing. This morning they were decked out I Flip-Flops, Cargo Shorts, AND long sleeve t-shirts, and it was a sunny 36-degrees! How can understand the minds of kids!
So, it is now COLD in Chico and I want to keep up my exercise program, so I decided to head over to the Chico Mall, and found that I was not the only one with that idea. Seems the Chico MALL part opens early so people can walk laps around the mall on these cold mornings.
The Chico Mall is exactly 1.25 miles a lap, perfect distance. So I decided on 3 laps this morning. And I joined the other "morning walkers" as we walked laps in the mall. I would say there was maybe a 125 people doing laps, and in the food court there were about 60 or so "grey tops" sitting and visiting, presumably after they had done their own laps.
A whole new meaning to "Mall Crowd" for me!
-After it warmed up I hit the Chico Cemetery-
Since I was a kid I have loved wondering around cemeteries. I like to find the oldest gave, (I think it is 1832, but there are over 18,000+ GRAVES HERE SO I MIGHT HAVE TO REVIsE THAT!), the youngest person, (One day wit a cute inscription "She brought us a smile and we loved her dearly.") I used to take cooper rubbings of the cool tombs, now I just take a picture! And wonder I did. I had NO IDEA how very hug this cemetery. The Bidwells are probably the most famous people buried here. I heard once "If you have seen a tree, then you have seen all of Chico! Well if you have visited the cemetery you have met everyone in town :O:
