There have been numerous studies that have shown that the same unbending authoritarian personalities that are attracted to police work also have such poor impulse control that they are frequently involved in domestic disputes. There has been one study disputing this, but many supporting it.
So Sunday's incident comes as no surprise:
FOREST GROVE-- A Washington County sheriff's deputy was shot Sunday while responding to a domestic disturbance between an off-duty Hillsboro officer and his wife.
The deputy's injuries were described by authorities as non-life-threatening. The off-duty officer also received minor injuries. The man's wife and the couple's 6-year-old daughter were not hurt.
