More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

And agreed.  I've cried a lot of tears today - most of them happy ones, all of them from having been profoundly moved.  Here they go again . . . .

I can't decide what part of his speech meant the most, the reminders we are greater together than when we are torn apart, the joining of Seneca Falls and the Civil Rights movements and Stonewall, his connections to the highest and best of what we want our nation to be, these are the ideas and visions of a complex man, understanding better than most the broad and diverse wealth of our history and our peoples.

Days like this give us the joy to carry on. We'll struggle and fight on the long road tomorrow, but tonight, let's dance.

the pieces out from each other.  They're all inextricably intertwined.

Aside from his speech, though, there was one other thing today that resonated at an almost cellular level.  When Myrlie Evers-Williams said:

        "God, make me a blessing."
And as I said in a comment at the time:

If every one of us could be a blessing, every one of us will have lived well.  I couldn't ask for a better legacy to leave behind.

It's so beautiful to see a couple who have been married for
20 years and are still so in love with each other....and to have them representing our country is such an honor. Makes me cry everytime I see them like this..(in a good way!) And damn, Michelle was rocking that red dress wasn't she?

came out to cut in, and they couldn't even find one white guy who could dance. Poor thing did the box step with the first lady. :)

A shame to have your dancing compared to the President's. He's so smooth, and he and Michelle dancing together are so sexy. (Every woman in America wants a guy who dances like this. Like he adores you and loves touching you, can't help but kiss you and sometimes sings in your ear.)

Pay attention, guys. This is how it's done.

My husband complains: Guys only dance with girls because they hope they can go home and have sex with them. Well, okay. They could at least work for it a little bit.

The entire family dazzled today, really---they make a rather extraordinary quartet. And their daughters seem very well-adjusted, particularly in light of the intensely public stage on which they were raised.
