About Republican obstruction any more?
I can't see how any Democratic Senator who helped defeat Filibuster reform has any grounds to complain about Republican obstruction from this day forward.
It remains true that Republicans shouldn't misuse the Filibuster and Republicans should continue to receive blame for any future misuse, but knowing that Democrats have been blaming Republicans for the past two years for obstructing government how could they fail to correct the problem? I'm confused here.
I suppose part of the answer lies with Reid's rebuke of Senator Merkley for naming Senators struggling with reform.
Claiming a need for transparency and turning around and rebuking a senator for being transparent is quite telling. And a bit hypocritical.
It's quite difficult to believe that Reid capitulated on this and as Speaker it is his responsibility to try to explain what happened, but I don't think it's fair to Democrats in America not to know if your Senator was involved in blocking this reform.
Senators Merkley, Udall and Harkin should be able to tell their constituents the names of the Democrats who blocked this reform.
I want to know if my Senators blocked this.
