Kudos to Chris Hayes for taking on this topic today.
I so wanted to play football as a kid. But my grandfather was a medical doctor and he told my parents they shouldn't let me play. Getting hit in the head again and again isn't a good idea. This was the 70s.
It isn't a new idea that getting hit in the head isn't good for your health.
If you watch Real Sports on HBO they have been covering this topic for years. There are folks about my age, 43 that can't talk. Can't button their own shirt. Very early onset of Alzheimers. Sad beyond words.
Again this isn't a new topic. It isn't something we don't understand.
Look I love football. Love the sport, but alas that getting hit in the head has adverse effects isn't a new concept.
