Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman, Senator Michael Bennet (D. CO), is fundraising for Progressive Democratic Congressman Ed Markey (D. MA) for the 2013 Special Election in Massachusetts to succeed outgoing Senator, Secretary of State John Kerry (D. MA).  Markey is going up against Conservative Democrat, Stephen Lynch:

With a huge special Senate election coming up in June in Massachusetts, we can't afford to lose all of the momentum we gained in 2012 re-electing President Obama and sending more candidates who are fighting for the middle class to the U.S. Senate.

Ed Markey is our candidate -- a passionate leader who's taken on the tough fights. We need to rally around Ed right out of the gate to help him build a winning campaign.

Ed's campaign has set a $500,000 goal to kick off his grassroots network in February. Can you contribute $10 or more to help him out?

This is going to be a fast race and Ed must build a powerful grassroots organization right away.

Help Ed's campaign hit this $500,000 kickoff goal. Contribute $10 or more today.

I've always been able to count on you to support leaders that fight for the values we share. Ed is one of those leaders and he needs our support today.

I hope you'll help me help him by contributing a few dollars today.

Thank you,

Michael Bennet

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
