Imagine a world without nonsensical Right Wing Memes!

Just Imagine!
Last week Kos posted this graphic at the head of the Saturday Hate Mail-a-palooza.

Its disconnect from any semblance of making sense or awareness of anything approaching reality was very disconcerting to me. I knew it was meant for an audience who didn't think, who didn't question, but who only longed for 'a simpler time.' That time that Ned Flanders of The Simpsons described so aptly as only existing in the minds of his fellow conservatives.

But its outrageous conflation of the now hated apellation and catch-all "LIBERALS!" to everything they might have issues with--France? MTV? Hollywood Celebs?--listed as the direct result of the mere existence of "LIBERALS!" was just so over the top, even for "them."

And the subtext that 'if only we could just get rid of them, things would be better!" was frankly just one more straw on the mounting pile of eliminationist rhetoric I've come to expect.

But this time I couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling of a target on my forehead. Call me paranoid, but 30 years of this shit, it gets a little old. And then you remember the Unitarian Church shooter who actually acted on his desire to 'kill him some Libs,' and the drunk Beck-head guy with the stash of weapons in the truck headed for the Tides Foundation who opened up on the cops who pulled him over for weaving all over the road, you read the ballistic spew in the hate mail, you go to your Facebook feed and read the RWNJ's mounting paranoid furor over the coming imminent apocalypse of GUN CONTROL!...

Well, you get the picture.

Lots of crazy out there. Too much IMHO.

What to do, what to do?

hmmmmm, hmmmmm....thinking, thinking...

maybe what we need is a little counter-meme?

maybe a little Photoshop magic...

Voilà! Oops! No French! I mean: Here it is!

NO Change! For God's sake, stop the CHANGE!
Too wordy? Too complicated?

I was going to just go with Imagine NO CHANGE!

but I'm a Liberal, so I just had to keep talking.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

they make you fill your pockets with $1 and $2 coins!

I had to buy a freaking coin purse, a goddam coin purse!  to handle the extra weight in my pockets.

but they do have a sense of humor about it, I mean, humour.

I heard them call the 2 dollar coin a "two-nie"

so I asked them what they call the one dollar coin.

      "a looney"

  •  Which NEA do they hate? (0+ / 0-)

this one of weird artist perverts:

The National Endowment for the Arts was established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. To date, the NEA has awarded more than $4 billion to support artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. The NEA extends its work through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector.
or this one of union thug teachers:
The National Education Association (NEA), the nation's largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 3 million members work at every level of education—from pre-school to university graduate programs.
    or BOTH???
