Darth Issa:  Lord Vader, I have proceeded to introduce new immigration bills that should attract the Rebels (Democrats) to our side so we can beat them again when they least expect.
Darth Vader:  Good.  You are proving that the Dark Side of the Force is too good that the Rebels cannot resist.
Darth Issa:  They will join us...
Darth Vader:  ...Or die.
Congressman Darrell Issa may be willing to compromise and work with the Democratic Party on a number of issues:

Representative Darrell Issa (CA-49, which includes Fallbrook and a portion of Southern Riverside County), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, today announced the reintroduction of three immigration reform bills to improve American competitiveness, encourage those who enter the U.S. legally to stay, and impose criminal sentencing for those who enter the country after having been removed.

"We must take a balanced and practical approach to immigration," said Rep. Issa on the introduction of the three bills. "This includes making our country more accessible to those who can fill critical needs and also stiffening penalties for those who continue to violate our laws. From high-tech entrepreneurs to those who fight in our armed services, these reforms offer new benefits and securities that must go hand in hand with tougher enforcement."

Now I'm sure what Darrell Issa is doing is reasonable.  It certainly makes sense to deal with immigration in a more serious matter rather than the divisive manner which the Republican Party is handling immigration reform.  For this, I commend Issa.

But I am also not a dumbass.  I'm not naive enough to be seduced by the Dark Side of the Force:

Yes, government shouldn't spend more than it does.  Thanks for the heads up!  Where were you in 2002-2008?

Probably because the GOP is conning the constituents into thinking it really is "fiscally conservative."

Ok Darth Issa.  That's where you come in.  You and your colleagues are divisive and you know it, right?  GOOD.

See, this is why not enough voters in California's 49th Congressional District knew about Jerry Tetalman, who ran against Darrell Issa in the 49th Congressional race in 2012.  Tetalman ran on a very pro-environment platform and actually recognized the efforts that were being made in San Diego to promote green jobs.

Where's Issa on the green jobs?  Um, NOWHERE!

Keep talking Sr. Issa, keep talking.

Earth to Issa!  The economy IS growing!  Now you and your fellow "Republicans" need to stop being roadblocks in the process!

Once again, let's let Henry Waxman do the talking:

If you're in the 49th Congressional District of California or outside it and want to start un-Republican the strangehold Darrell Issa has on the district, then contact the San Diego County Democratic Party:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
