WYFP is our community's Saturday evening gathering to talk about our problems, empathize with one another, and share advice, pootie pictures, favorite adult beverages, and anything else that we think might help. Everyone and all sorts of troubles are welcome. May we find peace and healing here. Won't you please share the joy of WYFP by recommending?
My FP is less personal this time around. When I look at what this nation has been thru for the last 30+ years as a result of what used to be called the Reagan Revolution, one thing stands out to me that is not often discussed. The number one thing that Reagan made legitimate, that never would have been tolerated before, his truest legacy, is gigantic deficits outside of the time of war. He tossed off lines like "two out of three ain't bad" when referring to the "supply side economics" alleged goals of 1) cut taxes, 2) increase defense spending, and 3) balance the budget - actual goals of increasing defense spending, cut taxes for Republican campaign contributors, and drown the government in debt.
That thing not discussed? If we had left the taxes as is, and spent the money on other things, what could we have done with it? I think we could have resolved the energy crisis, and done an incredible job on rebuilding the nations infrastructure. It is just an opportunity lost, and turned into a huge burden for our future in terms of a debt load.
So share with this community your FP's and get in return some sympathy, commiseration, and often some constructive suggestions.
