Back on Sunday, I mentioned that Kimberly Daniels, a dominionist/New Apostolic Reformation pastor and so-called Democratic member of the Jacksonville City Council, penned a prayer for Obama that was chock full of conspiracy theory and wingnuttery. Daniels is a member of the International Coalition of Apostles, one of the leadership groups in this fascistic movement that thinks it can bring Jesus back to Earth by taking over the world. She managed to win election to the Jacksonville council despite a voluminous history of unhinged comments.
Well, when I posted on Sunday, Bruce Wilson/Troutfishing mentioned in a comment that Daniels is a member of the faculty of Wagner Leadership Institute, a training institute operated by the intellectual leader of the NAR, Peter Wagner. In other words, the Christianist equivalent of an Islamist madrassa. According to the staff list, Daniels teaches one of the core courses at WLI, "Advanced Spiritual Warfare." Among other things, the course teaches "enemy tactics," "the hierarchy of the demonic realm," and "demonic transition."
More telling, though, is what other courses are being offered here, and who's teaching them. Some of the courses sent a down my spine. One of them was "Taking Dominion Now," which teaches on the concepts of "workplace apostles" and how to exercise dominion in one's sphere of influence. Wagner himself teaches this course along with Lance Wallnau, the guy behind the "Seven Mountains" strategy--the idea that Christians must take over the forces that influence our culture in order to take over the world and bring about the Second Coming. Another course, "Dominion over the Land," taught by Jean Steffenson, is centered around the concept that God commands "His people" to dominate the earth.
Cindy Jacobs, the woman who claimed birds fell over dead after "don't ask, don't tell" was repealed and threatened divine intervention unless we elected more Republicans, is a member of the faculty. So is Mary Glazier, whom many of you remember as the leader of Sarah Palin's prayer group back in Alaska. She teaches a course that, among other things, discusses how to release the "dominion anointing."
You would think that no true Democrat would touch something like this with a ten-foot-pole. But apparently Daniels is part and parcel of this fascistic lunacy. All the more reason that Jacksonville Dems need to find and fund someone to get her off the council in 2015.
A few years back, my friend ulyankee--who like me, is a refugee from one of the more notorious dominionist outfits, Every Nation--told me that the NAR is actually working to have people on BOTH sides of the political divide in hopes of furthering their agenda. If that's the case, you really have to wonder how many other fake Dems like Daniels are out there. To my mind, getting people like Daniels out of office and out of our party should be one of our main priorities. If we're really about getting more and better Democrats elected, then we need to find and root out these fascists in Democrats' clothing. As much as some people wring their hands about the Blue Dogs, at least they believe in the integrity of the democratic process. People like Daniels, when all is said and done, don't.
