Wednesday
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
FloridaSNMom and Caedy are moving, so they might not be around.
And here's a pic of a chilly dog:
The snow is already deep enough that his snow booties are beneath the snow!
See? Even following in someone else's footsteps, his snow booties are beneath the snow. We only got about 3", but when you're only 6" tall, that's pretty deep. The snow wasn't that deep in these pictures, which were taken at 11:00 am, because it continued to snow until well after we got home at 8:00 pm.
Yesterday, being an election day (bond issues and selecting city councilmen), was a very long day - Itzl and I worked from 6:15 am to 7:10 pm with a 15 minute break at 11:00 am.
And the new Oz movie looks so fun! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD so I can read the closed captioning. I can scrounge up parking lot pennies and rent it.
