Sigh.
Cue Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin via
Roll Call:
“I hate to suggest this, but if this is an indication of where we’re headed, we need to revisit the rules again,” the Illinois Democrat said. “We need to go back to it again. I’m sorry to say it because I — was hopeful that a bipartisan approach to dealing with these issues would work.”
“It’s the best thing for this chamber, for the people serving here and the history of this institution,” Durbin said of the bipartisan arrangement. “But if this Caitlin Halligan nomination is an indication of things to come, we’ve got to revisit the rules.”
How about an indication of how things have always been since Democrats took over the Senate in 2007?
This is why people get frustrated with Democrats in Washington. They're like children that you have to speak to over and over and over again. Time after time, the Senate Majority leadership has been told that Republicans have no interest in a normally functioning republic. Therefore, the Senate has no choice but to make it function. Yet here we are, ONCE AGAIN, dealing with Republicans being Republicans and Senate leaders mystified as to why they are being Republicans.
My forehead skin is rubbed raw with facepalming over this shit.
