Kathy Amidon, a Tea Party activist from Nashville, Tennessee, is leading a boycott of FOX News channel over what they perceive as "silence" in investigating the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, as well as Roger Ailes's remarks in a post-November 2012 elections interview in which Ailes said that FOX News and the Republican Party need to "modernize", especially on the issue of immigration.
Amidon declined to be interviewed by the Daily Beast but posted this 23,000-word manifesto accusing FOX News of not investigating the Benghazi attacks:
It's obvious that just as it is becoming clear that the people who died in Benghazi are only dead because Obama must have wanted them dead, so it is clear IMO that FOX is not investigating Benghazi because they just don't give a damn enough to walk out the door and do it.
Stan Hjerlied, a participant in the Tea Party boycott of FOX News, said that "we are losing our only conservative network" and that "FOX keeps turning left".
These people who think that FOX News is "too liberal" are downright delusional. FOX News has always been in the tank for the Republican Party and has always promoted the conservative agenda. Granted, they have softened up a bit in recent months (Bill O'Reilly recently criticized Michele Bachmann for criticizing President Obama's lifestyle, for example), but they've always been sternographers for the Republican Party.
Now, I'm going to take a shower.
