I will keep this short and too the point.
I don't think a lot of us understand how our military works.
TRANSCOM is the US Transportation Command. Based out of Scott Air Force Base (which I live like five miles from).
If a US military base, ANYWHERE in the world needs toilet paper, bullets, well it comes through them. Largest transportation network in the world by like a factor of 10. They own trucks, rail, planes, you name it.
We are cutting back the hours of the workers.
My brother's wife, civil service, top secret clearance will have her hours changed from 40 to 29. She works at TRANSCOM. Her job, get goods to our troops in Afghanistan.
Look I think we spend way too much money on our military, but how you cut money here is beyond me. I mean she is the women that ensures our soldiers have soap, tampons, and toilet paper.
Sure if we don't build this weapons system that is one thing. Maybe we have a few less tanks. Or some weapons system Congress wants but that military doesn't. But to cut the hours of folks that provide support to our troops, well clearly I have an issue with that.
