Hadn't seen this here so I thought I'd post a quick diary about it.
Apparently Snowflake Snooki used the announcement that Fisker Automotive of Anaheim, CA, is laying off three-quarters of its workers despite a federal loan to help it build a plant here for yet another rant about Obama's crony capitalism.
But she didn't stop there.
She used the occasion for potshots at all electric-car makers ... including Elon Musk's Tesla:
This losing tax-subsidized venture joins other past losers like the Obama-subsidized Volt that gets 40 miles per battery charge, or like the Obama-subsidized Tesla that turns into a “brick” when the battery completely discharges and then costs $40,000 to repair.
Musk limited his response to
a sarcastic tweet about how he's "deeply wounded."
But I just love how this shows the true hypocrisy of not only Palin but (naturally) the American right. A lot of people have said a lot of things about Musk. Not all of them have been good.
But even I would consider him a genuine entrepreneur—one doing all the sorts of things that Republicans and conservatives always say we need to bend over backwards to allow entrepreneurs to do. Frankly, he's the only prominent businessperson at the moment who seems like a real-life Ayn Rand character (right down to the funky name). He actually seems to be trying to invent the future.
You'd think Republicans would be loving him for this.
He's made things, and he's trying to make more cool things. And, as several commenters at the story (and, I'm sure, elsewhere) have asked, what has Sarah Palin ever built? (Oh, and she sort of turned into a brick herself, didn't she? After a lot more money got spent on her).
