Thursday greetings -- this is the second diary in the new series of our new group, #kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too!, where we make it really easy to follow each other on twitter right from the diaries, and where we are promoting the use of the hashtag #kt2 for tweets by kossacks. The first diary is here. Since then, there are a number of us using the hashtag, with over 60 tweets so far. Not bad for just getting started.

Please also follow:

DKos TWEETers, with tons of useful info about using and getting the most out of twitter.

(TwitterKos was active prior to the elections in November, but since then has been quiet. I'll be happy to mention it in subsequent diaries if anyone revives it.)

This project is now database driven, so it will be easy to maintain a running, alphabetical display of all of our "follow me" buttons, which will be displayed in each diary. Here's how we'll update it:

Simply leave a comment, with your twitter name preceded by @ in the header, and I will add you to the top of the new additions list in the diary, right below the orange croissant. That makes it easy for anyone to return and click on new additions to the "follow me" list. You can easily see who you're already following if you're logged into your twitter account on the same browser; current follows are grayed out.

Once you've been added, your follow me button will be shown in the full alphabetical listing in subsequent diaries, following the new additions, so you won't need to repost your twitter handle again. (If you ever wish to be deleted from this listing, or if you change your twitter information, please just send me a private message.)

It's time for kossacks to have an organized presence on twitter, where we can promote Daily Kos, linking back to our favorite diaries of the day here, and where we can easily find each other. Just add #kt2 to the end of your tweets, and find all of our tweets by entering #kt2 in the twitter search box.

So as not to clutter the comments, please excuse me for not individually thanking you. But in addition to saying thanks in advance to everyone, in the proud American tradition of incentives and rewards, I will be happy to rec you for participating :-) and you'll then find your twitter button added at the top.

Note: The list below is now out of date. It will be kept here for historical reasons, but please see the most current listing, which can always be found at the top diary published by Kossacks Tweet Too.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
