Greetings! This is the third diary for our new group, #kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too! We will continue to post diaries every Wednesday.
The goal is to make it very easy for kossacks with twitter accounts to follow each other, and to find each other on twitter using the hashtag #kt2. We thought it was time for kossacks to have an organized presence on twitter, where we can promote Daily Kos, linking back to our favorite diaries of the day, and creating our own hashtag so we can easily find each other. Just add #kt2 to the end of your tweets, and find all of our tweets by entering #kt2 in the twitter search box.
With rapidly evolving events, it's even more important that we can further amplify our voice.
This project is database driven, making it very easy to maintain a running, alphabetical display of all of our "follow me" buttons, which will be displayed right in the body of each diary. Here's how we update it, and how you can participate:
Simply leave a comment, with your twitter name preceded by @ in the header, and you will be added to the top of the New Additions list in the diary, right below the orange croissant. That makes it easy for anyone to return to the diary and click on newly added buttons in order to follow them.
Once you've been added, your twitter "follow" button will automatically be shown in subsequent diaries in the cumulative alphabetical listing that appears right below the New Additions, so you won't need to repost your twitter handle again. You can easily see who you're already following if you're logged into your twitter account on the same browser; current follows are grayed out.
Several of us have discussed whether we should add the names and buttons of kossacks who have listed their twitter address in their profiles or their signatures, but haven't yet discovered this listing. Our thinking is that anyone who does this wishes to promote their presence on twitter, and that it is ok to go ahead and presumptively add these people to the list -- but always accompanying this with a private message letting them know we've done this, and making it clear that we will immediately delete anyone from the listing who doesn't wish to be included.
So far, the responses have been uniformly positive, so this seems to be reasonable. But any comments you might have about this provisional listing idea will be greatly appreciated.
If you ever do want to be deleted, or your info has changed, a private message to 'flitedocnm' does the trick.
Note: The list below is now out of date. It will be kept here for historical reasons, but please see the most current listing, which can always be found at the top diary published by Kossacks Tweet Too.
