I, like many, are wondering what it is that's different about the gun debate that has so many okay with numbers of innocent children being gunned down every year. Although nothing will ever be full proof, I keep wondering if something different can't take place. My thoughts continue, below the orange danish.
Many of the same people who are opposing any type of gun legislation, happen to be from the same band of "thinkers" who feel we desperately need some sort of voter id system. Well, why not fight them at their own game? Why not propose a gun id system, where in order for you to purchase a gun, you need to pass some sort of criteria that then gives you an ID, one albeit non-traceable of course, except that it has a fingerprint or something to verify that you are indeed the proper owner.
Just like voting is a right, so is owning a gun. But if they want to purchase one, they need a gun id. I would think we'd see a totally different viewpoint on the voter id if a gun id were to be debated in the media and given some great credence like the voter id has gotten.
