On April 18, the Ohio House passed the execrable HR 59, the state's budget bill that would ultimately strip vital funding from Planned Parenthood and other family planning providers. The "poorly written budget" bill is now headed to the state senate, and it's crucial that our representatives hear from us.
Organizations like Planned Parenthood and the Family Planning Association of NE Ohio provide free or low-cost reproductive health services to thousands of low-income women and families. By changing the order of priority in which Title X block grants are distributed, this bill, if passed, could jeapardize the health and well-being of women and families across the state.
Like too many Ohioans, I'm represented by a wingnutty loon, but I'll still be sending a fax to his office, and I hope others do, too; it's not too late to act, and our representatives need to hear from us.
You can find your Senate district at this map, and you can look up your senator by district using the search function in the bottom left of the Senate homepage.
Thanks.
