Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
Yes, it's that time of the year again - time for what passes for the foster care system in Azeroth to entrust a traumatized child to a random psychotic adventurer and hope that they get the child back alive.
Of all the holidays I don't understand, I understand this one the least Nevertheless, if you're working on What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been, you're going to need this one. I went looking for guildes for you but the only one I found that was updated to 2013 so far was from WoW Insider. Post more if you can find them.
And good luck. You're going to need it.
Here's the Team Kaels raid report from Ninotchka:
My husband's favorite quote from Godfather is, "You cut the toikey without me!". Yes, he says that whenever we eat turkey.
And how is that relevant to a raid report, you ask? Well, last week I ventured off to the wilderness near Annapolis with a herd of 12-year-old girl scouts. And while I was listening to ghost stories and eating burned marshmellows, Team Kaels killed the chicken without me. Yes, they demolished Ji-kun, 6th boss in the Throne of Thunder raid. One of them is going to have to tell you how they did it. As a tank, the fight is pretty simplistic - ho hum, swap at 5 stacks and don't get pushed off the platform. Anyhow.
I read about a glitch that lets you skip most of the evil snails and spiders that you encounter on the way to Ji-kun's room, and we tried it last night. Our verdict is that it works great as long as you don't get disconnected, which seems to have a 30% chance.
Next boss on our hit list is Durumu, who would be called a beholder if Blizzard wouldn't get sued by Wizards of the Coast the moment they used the name. Anyhow, he's a monster with a whole bunch of eyes and he's supposed to be a real pain in the patootie. Fun times ahead!

I don't have a Team RubiPam report. When I do I'll put it here.
Here's the Team ZARD and Saturday Night Massacre report from Moodyloner:
Still beating away at ol' Elegon. We're either killing Elegon too quickly, not killing the adds quickly enough, or both. But we're getting the dance down.
One issue is that we're all melee DPS, and Elegon is more than usually unfriendly to melee. We may have to swap in ranged alts for this one.
Saturday Night Massacre was harder to get people for the Sha of Anger than normal. We may wind up dropping this, unless guildies still need gear from him or haven't done it yet and need the boots. Galleon remains popular, and the Raid Leader only got three-shot by him this time.
We may start a tradition that the most obnoxious PuG tank gets to solo tank Nalak. Personally, I'd like it to be solo tank Galleon instead, but we're hurting enough on repair bills as it is.

PvP group report, also by Moodyloner until someone else writes it:
We warmed up with some war games to introduce people to PvP and get some idea of skill level and gear setup.
Soon, we're going to try some battlegrounds and start gearing people up.

That's all I have for this week.
For the Horde!
