The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group. It is a place to note of any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers. All are worthy additions to the bucket. Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment. Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.

Details below the orange bird's nest
Yesterday evening our front yard, near the chickadee house hung in the
spruce, we were surprised by the activity of a small flock of Chestnut Backed Chickadees. Their behavior makes us think that they are recent fledges.
On April 21/ 2012, I published a diary here noting that we had hatchlings, but I don't see any reporting the date they fledged. In 2011, I reported hatchlings on May 5, and fledglings on May 15, so those were eitherlate or else a second clutch, unless 2012 and 2013 are unusually early.
Your Turn
Ok, time for you to report your observations and findings. Please remember to give at least an approximate location in your comments.
Thank you.
