So, normally I have very little issue (relative term here...explanation coming) with my pay card. McDonald's as of 2/27/13 has gone paperless with it's payroll, and we were all issued these nifty little pay cards that would have our paychecks deposited on them no later than 7am every Wednesday (pay day).
Today, however, I was somewhat concerned when I didn't have the customary text message alert saying that my paycheck had been loaded onto my card...this was going on 2 hrs ago when I woke up.
After finding out that there was indeed a balance command for the text message number, I quickly sent that, and the nightmare began...
According to the balance message that I got back, instead of having a three digit number (new balance w/today's pay check added), I only have $1.87 on my card. This was the balance that was on there yesterday after getting FloridaSNDad the gatorade he needed after spending the day before ill.
So, I begin making phone calls (after of course I find a pay stub that has my nine digit employee number on it). I bounce back and forth attempting to get through to the pay check card number and the McDonald's service center to try and figure out what in the hell is going on.
Two hours I spent on the phone, being told that all customer service representatives are busy due to high call volume (no kidding) and getting a busy signal (service center). I'd even made a phone call to my store, and my old store to see if there were issues with the pay card and people getting their money today. My current store responded in the affirmative that there were people that did not have their money on the card.
This normally would not have been a problem, except for the fact that we -really- need groceries today. Otherwise, it is hotdogs, mac n cheese & ham, or ramen/soup for everyone tonight as we round up the rest of the change everywhere and get a can of do food for Freya, and hope and pray that the issue is resolved tomorrow.
The pay card that they've issued has been nothing but headaches for me since I got it, as I've been locked out of their webpage since I registered/activated the account back in Feb. Otherwise, I'd have just transferred the balance of my card to my Suntrust account (which I'm working on getting rid of anyway due to the closest branch being in Gainseville), and been done with it.
Ultimately, my goal is to set up a bank account locally (already know which bank I'm going to), but I've got to be able to get my birth certificate first (which I need to order from MA) and then get my license renewed so I can finally open the bank account - but if the money isn't there...then I'm stuck...still.
I just want my pay check so I can get groceries. Is that too much to ask?
7:28 AM PT: 10:28am: Just got off the phone with the McDonald's service center, and was told that, yes they are experiencing problems with their paycard services, to check the balance in 2 hrs, and if it isn't there to call them back.
7:54 AM PT: THE CASH HAS ARRIVED!!! THE MONEY IS THERE...FINALLY!
