The 2016 election is approaching and it is pretty clear that the Democrats will have quite a primary, especially with rumors of Hillary R. Clinton's potential presidential run. If a Democrat wins the white house in 2016, they should have a team that can accomplish great things.
It is time for fresh faces in Washington D.C. so we can actually create the change that the voters asked for in 2012. Support for the Democratic Party and their causes is growing and we have a real opportunity to change the culture of Washington D.C. in 2016 so that it works for we the people once again.
The people who will make the most change are those who will be advising the president on a daily basis: his or her cabinet secretaries.
Once a week, I will post a proposed cabinet position, you make your own suggestions, and we will take polls and vote to see who we agree should be on the 2016 Presidential cabinet. Have an alternative choice? Post it in the comment section or vote for the proposed secretaries in the poll. In the end, I will come up with the final Daily Kos approved Presidential Cabinet. I want this to be interactive and democratic, and have you, the Kos masses, create this proposed presidential cabinet. I will send the final version to the Democratic nominee for President so they know who we have in mind.

Here us my pick for Secretary of State. Post your picks in the comments and I will add a poll later in the week where people can vote on the best potentials. I will tally the polls when the Democratic nominee for president is chosen.
Here is a clip of this nominee endorsing now-President Barack Obama in 2008.
Secretary of State: Gov. Bill Richardson
Bill Richardson completed his second term as governor of New Mexico in December 2010. Since entering life as a private citizen, Gov. Richardson was named chairman of APCO Worldwide’s executive advisory service Global Political Strategies. In January 2011, Richardson was named special envoy for the Organization of American States, adding another platform for initiatives within peace and reconciliation in the Western hemisphere. In addition, the governor has joined several non-profit and for-profit boards. He also gives speeches on domestic and foreign policy through the Washington Speakers Bureau.
Gov. Richardson was first elected to office in 2002 and reelected in 2006 with the support of 69 percent of voters, representing the largest margin of victory for any governor in state history. Prior to being elected governor,he enjoyed a very successful and fulfilling career in public service, academia and the private sector - few can match his wide-ranging experience and his level of dedication to protecting the rights and improving the quality of life of people in New Mexico, the United States and around the world. In 2008, Gov. Richardson sought the Democratic nomination for president of the United States.
Gov. Richardson served for 15 years in northern New Mexico representing the 3rd Congressional District. He served in 1997 as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and in 1998, he was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as secretary of the Energy Department. As a congressman, Richardson served as a special envoy on many sensitive international missions. He successfully won the release of hostages, American servicemen, and prisoners in North Korea, Iraq, Cuba and Sudan. Governor Richardson has been nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Assistant: Gov. Jon Huntsman
Jon Huntsman, Jr. is the former governor of Utah, and the former ambassador to China and Singapore. He was raised in locations across the U.S. in part due to the business of his father, who founded Huntsman Chemical Corporation, and accrued a net worth of over $1 billion in the process. Huntsman dropped out of high school to pursue work as a rock band’s keyboardist, but eventually obtained a G.E.D. and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987.
Huntsman was a popular governor, re-elected in 2008 with more than 75% of the vote. He stepped down in August 2009 after President Obama named him U.S. ambassador to China. Huntsman’s position in the Obama administration has been a sticking point for some Republican voters who are skeptical of a candidate who has served under a Democratic president. He has staked out more moderate positions on some issues, which puts him at odds with more conservative segments of the Republican base. Former Pennsylvania governor and Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge has endorsed Huntsman.
Huntsman's father, Jon Sr., is a billionaire businessman and philanthropist. The younger Huntsman has taken an interest in business and is the president and CEO of Huntsman Cancer Foundation, chairman of Huntsman Corp. and chairman and CEO of the Huntsman Family Holdings Co.
Huntsman served in the first Bush administration, as ambassador to Singapore, and as a deputy U.S. Trade Representative in the second Bush administration.
