This is diary #5 in our Wednesday series. The twitter button listing below has grown to over 100 names, and more of us are regularly using the hashtag #kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too!
Our goal: amplify our voices by making it very easy for kossacks with twitter accounts to follow each other on twitter, and to find and respond to each other's tweets by using the hashtag #kt2. And by combining our hashtag with the tags for other large progressive groups, like #UniteBlue, greatly expanding our outreach to other areas of the progressive universe, and providing links to the excellent diaries and stories posted here.
To have your twitter button added to the diary list below, simply leave a comment, with your twitter name preceded by @ in the header, and you will be added to the top of the New Additions list in the diary, right below the orange croissant. That makes it easy for anyone to return to the diary and click on newly added buttons in order to follow them.
And you'll be added to the cumulative alphabetical listings (front pagers are shown separately) that appear right below the New Additions, so you won't need to repost your twitter handle again. You can easily see who you're already following if you're logged into your twitter account on the same browser; current follows are grayed out.
It's really easy to follow any of us on the list -- just click on the button of anyone you'd like to follow.
A quick techie note: The list is now long enough that loading this diary is getting a bit slow, because each twitter button establishes a connection to twitter that adds the button graphic and the inclusion of the number of followers for each person. Let me know if you think this is getting too slow, and we can change the diary (perhaps starting next week) to simply provide a link to each person's twitter account rather than the button. The tradeoff is the extra step in adding people you want to follow in exchange for the page loading faster. We would maintain an updated diary that includes the buttons, and the weekly diaries will link to for anyone who prefers the convenience (and the niftier graphics) of the buttons.
Thanks for the great response we've been getting. Tweet on!
