Good morning everyone. Welcome to KosKraft, Issue 5.
Last week I mentioned that artisans often use different mediums other than their main focus. Between the wife and I, there's been quite a few projects besides the leather.
Pottery, stained glass, hypertufa, you name it, we either dabbled in it, or tried to make a living with it. Emphasis on the "tried".
Pottery was a big investment in time and energy. Here in NC, we live in the middle of the most historic pottery area in the Country. So naturally we gave it a whirl. Life got in the way, but we did produce a lot of pottery, and sold a lot at fairs, and street happenings.
Another joint effort, emphasis on the joint...
was Hypertufa, a mix of concrete, vermiculite perlite, and peat moss. I had been in the carpentry trade, and lugged all my tools around for years, even when I wasn't using them. NEVER sell your tools! So I had the mixers, and paddles to begin this venture.
It was the most fun we had making things, and selling them. We made planters, guideposts, fountains, geez, lots of different things.
We are never too old to try something. Get off your duffs, make something!
Please consider joining and contributing to the Group. I know what I've done, but much prefer looking at, and learning from what other people do.
All Kossack Artisans are welcome to join the group, just send me a PM.
