Received this e-mail today from Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D. PA-13) who is running against Governor Tom Corbett (R. PA) in next year's Governor's race:
Last week, Governor Corbett stated that so many Pennsylvanians are out of work because they use illegal drugs.
Really.
Of course, you and I know that’s not the cause of Pennsylvania’s stagnant economy.
Its Tom Corbett’s failed economic policies.
On his watch, Pennsylvania dropped to 49th in job creation last year – ahead of only Wyoming.
And the Governor’s office calls this meaningless.
As states around us rebound from the recession, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate remains above the national average, and is nearly as high as it was when Governor Corbett took office.
We deserve better than the failed economic policies, stale politics and misplaced priorities of Governor Corbett.
We deserve better than a Governor who is 49th in job creation and #1 in excuses.
And Pennsylvanians know it.
This morning’s Franklin and Marshall poll shows that 64 percent of Pennsylvanians think it’s time for a new Governor – giving him a “C” on his performance on job creation and the economy.
Right now, you can help Allyson get there.
Make a contribution of $49 today to support Allyson's campaign for Governor and show Tom Corbett that being 49th in job creation and #1 in excuses just isn’t good enough for Pennsylvania.

By the way, the new F&M poll Schwartz is referring to also shows that Pennsylvania's greatly disapprove of Corbett's plan to privatize the liquor store system:
http://www.mcall.com/...
The poll also shows support is dipping rapidly for one of Corbett's key budget initiatives: selling state-owned liquor store system to the private sector.
Liquor privatization ranked as the lowest priority for the 526 voters surveyed between April 30 and May 5. It even fell behind privatization of the state lottery's management. While the highest priority for voters was creating new jobs and improving the state's economy.
Support for privatizing the liquor store system dropped 6 percentage points to 47 percent between February and the end of the most recent survey.
The lost support is even steeper when broken up along party lines.
Liquor privatization support dropped 7 percentage points to 54 percent among Republicans, and 7 percentage points among Democrats to 48 percent. - Morning Call, 5/8/13
