Prince Charles has taken the gloves off with 'corporate lobbyists' and those who deny climate change, excoriating them in no uncertain terms. The Prince, who has long been a proponent of organic farming, reforestation, alternative medicines, has gone firmly on the record in support of immediate action to forestall the worst of climate change in his recent speech.
The Prince of Wales has criticised “corporate lobbyists” and climate change sceptics for turning the earth into a “dying patient”, in his most outspoken attack yet on the world’s failure to tackle global warming.
He attacked businesses who failed to care for the environment, and compared the current generation to a doctor taking care of a critically ill patient.
“If you think about the impact of climate change, [it should be how] a doctor would deal with the problem,” he told an audience of government ministers, from the UK and abroad, as well as businesspeople and scientists. “A scientific hypothesis is tested to absolute destruction, but medicine can’t wait. If a doctor sees a child with a fever, he can’t wait for [endless] tests. He has to act on what is there.”
He added: “The risk of delay is so enormous that we can’t wait until we are absolutely sure the patient is dying.”
These words came from an address he made at a conference he set up in St. James Palace in London for forest scientists, with some of the political 'sceptics' and 'lobbyists' sitting in front of him.
The article is well worth the read. It is important in our battle to get climate change to become the core issue it is, that we recognize and support all those who are working to save the planet.
Fortunately, we have an ally in Prince Charles and his group and the work that he is supporting. We need to get as many allies as we can and hopefully by all joining together, a critical mass will be reached, so that we can finally penetrate through the plutocratic stranglehold, and actually start saving the planet.
Joining together worldwide is the only way we can win.... and win we must.
Thank you, Prince Charles!
