I just received an email from the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, asking if I would post a Mother's Day message for the mothers who lost children on that terrible day in December. This is their first Mother's Day since they lost their children, and it has to be especially hard.
Would you consider composing a short note to them to let them know they are not alone and that they're in our thoughts?
That may be done on this page on their website.
My inadequate message:
Bless you for bringing such remarkable spirits into our world, and for giving them a lifetime of love during their stay here. Take the best care of yourself you possibly can in this difficult time. I think your child would wish that for you.
May next Mother's Day be free of this sort of anguish for all the beautiful mothers of the world.
