From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Ex-Paul Ryan intern denied bail in cyberstalking case; judge cites 'weaponized' photos
A federal judge has denied bail to a former intern to U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan charged with cyberstalking and internet extortion, in part because the compromising photos the suspected got from more than a dozen women remain stored in "the cloud" where he could access them from any device.
"Though electronic files do not generally constitute dangerous materials, in the context of this highly-unusual case, the defendant effectively 'weaponized' these items, presenting a significant risk," wrote U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Brown.
