Well, not really twittering, of course. "Tweeting". But I liked the way the title rolled off my fingers :-)

#kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too!!

Thanks for dropping by for #7 in our diary series. The goal is simple: amplify Kossack voices by making it very easy to follow each other on twitter, and to find and respond to each other's tweets by using the hashtag #kt2. We may not yet be a twittering and tweeting force of nature, but we are getting there! There are now dozens of tweets by Kossacks every day that add the hashtag #kt2. Find us by entering #kt2 in the twitter search field. Add #kt2 to your tweets, and join the kossack tweetfest!

Plus, by combining our hashtag with the tags for other large progressive groups, like #UniteBlue, we greatly expand our outreach to other areas of the progressive twitterverse, and we promote Daily Kos by providing links to the excellent diaries and stories posted here.

Not yet following everyone here? It's really easy to follow any of us on the list -- just go down the list and click on the button of anyone you'd like to follow. If you're logged into twitter on the same browser, the buttons of people you are already following will be grayed out -- making it very easy to see who you can add.

Not yet on The List below? Simply leave a comment, with your twitter name preceded by @ in the header, and you will be added to the top of the New Additions list in the diary, right below the orange croissant. That makes it easy for anyone to return to the diary and click on newly added buttons. You'll also be added to the cumulative alphabetical listings (front pagers are shown separately) that appear right below the New Additions, so you won't need to repost your twitter handle in subsequent diaries.

Your #kt2 team has been busy at work finding more of us. If a Kossack has their twitter handle listed in their profile here, we take that as meaning that they'd be happy to have their name on this list, and we've been adding them as we find them.

If you'd like to join our #kt2 group, please drop us a message.

We'd also highly recommend the extensive Fellow Kossacks twitter List compiled by RLMiller, with over 200 names. We are going through that list and adding the names here if the person has included their twitter handle in their DKos profile. Please take advantage of that list, too.

Please also check out the other active twitter group here: DKos TWEETers, run by Angie in WA State, which provides tons of useful info about using and getting the most out of twitter.

The buttons below may load slowly, especially if you have a dial-up connection. Just give it a minute or three and they will all be there. We haven't yet switched to maintaining the button list as a separate standing diary that will always be updated, to allow the weekly diaries to change to a format that only includes the follow links, not the full buttons -- which will load much faster. We are close to the point where slow loading is an issue, so that will probably happen soon.

Tweet on! Don't forget #kt2.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?
