How's this for awesome?
Reportedly, Susan Rice is likely to be tapped for National Security Advisor when Tom Donilon steps down.
Per TPM:
Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, is likely to be tapped as the next National Security Advisor, according to a report in Foreign Policy.
The report quotes a pair of sources who said that Rice will inevitably succeed current National Security Advisor Tom Donilon whenever he leaves the post.
"It's definitely happening," one source said.

Plus après le croissant ...
According to a report in Foreign Policy, it's unclear when Donlilon will step down; however, when he does, Rice is almost certain to be his successor.
This is significant for a few reasons. First, after her appalling treatment by Senator McCain, it's refreshing to see that the administration has her back. Also, according to the same report, Republican Senators now seem disinclined to raise objections to Rice's ascension. In addition to reports today that the co-chairmen of the independent Benghazi review wish to testify in public over the objections of Darrell Issa, Senator Bob Corker indicated that the National Security advisor "serves at the pleasure of the President" when asked if he'd be concerned about her selection, and asserted that it's "totally his prerogative." McCain and Graham apparently didn't comment when asked the same question.
In other words, this Benghazi clown show has run out of steam.
Rice's selection would gratifying. I was concerned and saddened when she withdrew her name from consideration for Secretary of State, particularly because of the Benghazi "scandal" in which she was supposedly "implicated" has been a national disgrace from the beginning. It's gratifying to see the administration float her name now, in the midst of political turbulence.
Some in the press establishment have called on the President to bring in some "ass-kicking women" to weather the bullshit. I guess he heard 'em.
