Pulitzer-Prize-winning political cartoonist (and Daily Kos fan) Mike Luckovich has created another gem, this time focusing his pen upon the GOP's scandal machine.
As Benghazi and the I.R.S. continue to jockey for attention – political sideshows intended to score nothing more than electoral points – our nation continues to suffer through real scandals that our bloviating representatives largely ignore.
And herein lies the real scandal: that those elected to represent our interests as citizens are creating manufactured scandals which mask the true challenges, injustices and crises facing our nation.
Once again, the past week has shown that Republicans in Congress hate President Obama more than they love Americans.
And yet our corporate media – complicit in furthering these paralyzing distractions – drones on and on about emails and memos, repeating the word scandal .
Cheapening the word with each passing hour as fast food workers strike, unable to feed their families, university students occupy a president's office, unable to afford school, and a veteran commits suicide every hour.
Now, what's the scandal again?
