Mitch McConnell and the rest of the GOP Senators submit an amicus brief to the US Supreme Court urging the court to curtail the President's ability to make recess appointments (http://www.scribd.com/...) . The story is basically ignored in the mainstream media (no surprise there). But even in what is considered, the "liberal media," the pure hypocrisy of the brief is not pointed out.
TPM (http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/...) covers the brief (full disclosure; I'm both a Kos and TPM junky), but even they fail point out the blatant hypocrisy of it; the GOP Senators (many of whom have been in office for portions of both the W. Bush and Obama presidencies) never complained about recess appointments under W.
For the record: "President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments, and as of January 5, 2012, President Barack Obama had made 32 recess appointments (http://en.wikipedia.org/...). Yes, you read that previous link correctly; I got it off of the Wiki-freaking-Pedia. No great investigative talent necessary. But damn, if even reliable liberal outlets aren't pointing out blatant hypocrisy, how can I even hope that popular commercial media will ever again even deign to notice?
