Headline news during NPR Morning Edition today repeatedly played on air Daryl Issa'a charge that the IRS direction to investigate the tea party came straight from the White House.
It does not let listeners know that in the same interview Issa claimed his investigation would eventually turn up direct evidence of his charges. Eventually. You can watch the interview on CNN here: http://thinkprogress.org/...
NPR needs to understand what Mark Twain meant when he said "The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter—it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning."
For the country's sake NPR should stop promulgating unsubstantiated charges without including the salient information.
After all, aren't they in the business of words?
