Thursday!

Itzl AlertingAs you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here.  We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! (HELP!)  Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!  (Help us keep IAN going;  you know you have a diary or two in you just waiting to express itself!)

Ok, so we have a diary schedule.  When you are ready to write a diary, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMOM a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FloridaSNMOM is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

The flowers on this lilac bush are the most fragrant.
This year the flowers and flowering trees and bushes seem to be making up for the hot dry early spring followed by freezing temperatures that was Spring 2012.
The flowering crab apple tree looked like a snowball.
The apples and peaches will overload the branches if the fruit isn't thinned.
The apples are so crowded together, there will be a ton of little bitty fruits.
The peaches are easier to reach to thin them out, the branches touch the ground after heavy rains.
The peonies, poppies and iris are just bursting with blossoms.
The buds on this peony are huge and plentiful.
A lush double blossom peony in full bloom;  so fragrant!
I am fortunate to have a spacious lot that was already planted with fruit trees and perennials.  I brought the rest with me when I moved here, and never turn down an offer of more when somebody is thinning out a patch of something or other.

How does your garden grow ?

Oriental poppies were planted in the tulip bed before my time.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
