It's Sunday!
Could somebody sub for me next Sunday? I'm going to be at Netroots Nation and I don't take my computer with me. I know it's possible for me to do something and schedule it for next week, but I've had trouble enough thinking of things to say for this week.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Follow me over the orange decorative feature for what little I have.
We (ramara and I) have been working on putting together the Interfaith Service for NN13. We have had some beautiful contributions - including some lovely pictures to choose among from BlueJessamine, quite apart from the Street Prophets Coffee Hour post she wrote about it - but we do have to get everything put together and (hopefully) printed up.
Other than that, I got my eyes checked on Wednesday, which wiped me out all through Thursday, and I was busy all week at work with stuff that people who (OMG) finally figured out that yes, I really was going to be gone next week, finally got to me.
And this morning I babysat my grandson. My daughter and granddaughter went with friends to see an early morning screening of the new Superman movie, and he's only 17 months old. One sentence he has down very clearly is, "I wanna go outside." It was still too cool when he first said it, but he seems to have finally got a grip on what "later" means, so he didn't fuss. And we did go outside later. He also is pretty clear with "I wanna go in."
Shortly after that, he insisted on being picked up and promptly fell asleep, so I spent the last hour with a baby asleep on one shoulder.
