Why watch Minor League Baseball in Chicago, when it is so much less expensive out in the far western 'burbs? I am inviting you all out to watch a Kane County Cougars game. On Sunday, July 7, at 1:00 PM, they will be playing the Quad City River Bandits, so I thought we would get some tickets down the Left (of course) Field Line to enjoy our nation's pastime together. More details below the orange thingy.
The Cougars are a Midwest League (low A) affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and they play at Fifth Third Bank Ball Park in Geneva, IL. Parking costs $5 per vehicle, and if any people want to take the Metra UP-West Line train to Geneva (train leaving downtown at 10:40 arrives 11:47), we can arrange a shuttle from there to the park, just let me know.
They have great food and a nice beer selection at the ball park, and there are several good restaurants in the Geneva area, so if we want, we can go out to dinner together after the game.
The consensus in the replies to my first diary was for Box Seat Tickets, which are $12. When I have a firm number of confirmations, I will order a block of tickets, and you can pay me back when we meet there. The time is drawing near, and my lovely wife & I will be going to Glacier Park to meet up with some Kossacks there in the meantime, so I would appreciate some firm commitments soon, so please let me know in the comments if you are interested, or send me a Kosmail. So far we expect the following:
