No, I am not making this up. According to NPR, Gun Owners of America, another "pro gun" group with 375,000 members, is opposing the immigration bill because it believes that allowing more immigrants to become citizens will make it more likely that gun control legislation will be passed.
In an interview, Larry Pratt, the GOA's executive director, told [Frank James of NPR] his experience with many Hispanic immigrants (he said he's bilingual and that he attends a Spanish-language church) suggests that "they really don't know much about American politics but that their default assumption is that the Democrats are their friends.
"And the Democrats very likely will end up getting their votes. And if that, indeed, winds up with a Democratic dominance politically, there go our guns," he said.

Apparently, according to the NPR article cited above, Gun Owners of America "takes an even more aggressive approach" than the NRA, something that I did not even think was possible. NPR did contact the NRA for their position but they "couldn't be reached for comment."
An alert issued on June 3, 2013 by the Gun Owners of America, indicated the following:
But if the amnesty bill is passed, within 20 years, Washington could be as anti-gun as Albany, Hartford, and Sacramento.
This is because the bill will create at least 11,500,000 new citizens -- but probably closer to 20,000,000 -- and, if history is any guide, they will vote 71% of the time for far Left Democrats like Barack Obama.
Impartial analysts have determined that Florida, Colorado, Nevada, and probably Arizona will never vote for Republicans again. Given this, for the rest of your life, the White House will be occupied by someone who is just as anti-gun and just as liberal as Barack Obama.

After reading this, I wouldn't be surprised if the Gun Owners of America jumps on the voter suppression bandwagon, because more minority voters will mean more Democratic voters.
