But only because I don’t do face book, twitter or any other social media. Otherwise I would happily talk bad about her behind her back and try to get folks on my side.
Which I’m still going to do but I’m going to be bold about it and do it here in print where she can read it (except she really doesn’t get up this early so I’m safe for a bit.)
You see, I have a problem. My butt hurts. I spend many hours a day on the computer sitting only on my dining room chair and frankly the wear and tear on my butt is a pain.
So I called Sara R and suggested that she make some sort of “Booty Pad”. A quilted chair pad. Surely I’m not the only one with this problem. I laid my case before her and she said no.
(Mr. Blades, Sara isn’t working well with others or sharing her gifts!)
I thought it was a brilliant idea but to be fair I think most of my ideas are brilliant. My latest good idea is for a sign that says simply “Don’t be looking at this sign!”
(Let me know if you want to buy one from me.)
I live in a very simple Zen type of house with what I consider pretty hip furniture. A lot of leather and stainless steel.
I’ve been looking for chair pads to add to my comfort but they all look a bit like this:
YUK
YUK
And YUK
Think of how great a pad made from Sara would be! Not only would it look good and give me some extra padding so I could sit here on my ass for even longer periods of time but it would have that magic vibe of Sara’s.
Maybe I would write kinder comments or see other people’s point of view. (Ok, well, I doubt that, but at least I would be more comfortable while I argued “Did not, did so” over who said what in 2nd period, the wreck list and community spotlight).
One of the reasons Sara said no was because she said the “booty pads” wouldn’t last. I was dumbfounded! What the hell is going on up there in Portland? This is America; we don’t build things to last. There is no profit in that.
(Plus, how long do I want the pad my butt has been sitting on for hours every day to last? Jeez, I get a new toilet seat every 6 months.)
And partly, profit is what this is all about. Sara R needs our help. She supports this fractious community with community quilts, pads for our pooties and woozles and she supports herself as well. Not in as grand a fashion as I for one would like.
Aji wrote about this much more eloquently and in a more sophisticated manner here:

(I don't think she mentioned her butt at all.)
It seemed to me that we could do ourselves and Sara a favor at the same time. We could pre order “Booty Pads” for ourselves to give our behinds some extra cushion and by doing so we would give Sara an extra cushion as well.
So who’s with me? Who else would like to give their tired bum and Sara some relief?
I’m going to keep a running count here: I want 2. Total now 22.
