It's Sunday!
And I still don't have much to say.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Follow me over the orange decorative feature for what little I have this week.
Payday was Friday, so I spent Saturday morning doing my biweekly grocery shopping. Since I was running low on my buckwheat honey, this entailed a trip to the Portland State University Farmers Market - I don't know that that is the formal name, but it's certainly where and what it is.
I ended up also buying a pound of pie cherries. I'm not sure what I will do with them, but my daughter offered me some phyllo dough to do it with.
Trader Joe's is where I get my coffee (their New Mexico brand is both cheap and tasty) and butter (Kerry Gold for far less than the supermarkets charge) and goat cheese (that may change, but it hasn't yet). And Fred Meyer had a sale on my favorite bread (Dave's Killer Spelt), and relatively cheap fresh blueberries and carrots, and discount pricing (however temporary) on a new variation on Arm & Hammer laundry detergent.
I did get some other stuff at both places, and went to PetSmart for two weeks worth of cat food (I try not to buy the cheap stuff - he's old and has a finicky stomach, and pukes much less often if I feed him the good wet food). But this is less than I normally buy - largely due to my still having a freezer full of veggies and the number that summer weather does on my appetite.
Speaking of weather, I still think the PNW is the only part of the country that is having normal weather. And that is what the lady said during the weather report I heard on my way home - that we're having normal weather.
I hope you all are doing well.
