Descend below the orange puffy doodle to see what Daily Kos stories in the first week of July were most shared around the interwebs.
*Can't see my lovely tables? Tech is not my expertise, and I have no idea why some people see them and others do not. So I'm posting screenshots of them at the end. Remember, though, they're not clickable.
In general, this was a slow week. We had the holiday smack-dab in the middle of the it all and quite a bit of staff took time off.
Still, Reddit had quite the week, beating out Facebook in terms of driving traffic.
REDDIT:
David Harris Gershon, the artist formerly known as The Troubadour, was the certifiable Reddit King this week (and charted on Facebook and Twitter as well). Keeping with the holiday theme, I think he deserves a few fireworks.
Only one Reddit hit was a front-paged story. And it was APR! I don't think we've seen APR top the charts yet, so that was interesting.
FACEBOOK:
Following tradition, if a cell's highlighted orange, it was written by a front pager.
Tom Tomorrow's comic was number one for the week.
Three-fifths of the top Daily Kos stories passed around the Facebook consisted of content produced by the community. Number three and number four were from June and April—looks to me like the stories were re-shared via the Daily Kos email list, explaining their resurrection.
TWITTER:
Only two-fifths of the top five on Twitter were front-paged: Tom Tomorrow and kos. And the transcript editor came in at number five! Never seen a transcript on any of these charts before.
There you have it. If you haven't already, find Daily Kos on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and/or Google Plus. And keep in mind that sharing stories out in the social media world is just one more way to give your fellow community members some love beyond the tips and recs.
