Back on July 3, several people visiting Kings Island near Cincinnati complained to park officials that a man was acting funny around children, and even tried to kidnap one of them. When police arrested the man, Rodney Grisham, they found three guns and 4,000 rounds of ammunition in his truck. If that isn't scary enough, it turns out that Grisham was not legally supposed to have a gun in the first place.
Mason police arrested Grisham at the park July 3 after someone reported him acting suspiciously in the area of the Diamondback roller coaster.
Police said he was using a hidden camera in his sunglasses to videotape children.
Police originally said they found a loaded firearm in his semitrailer as well as children’s videos and toys, a police-style baton, Taser and non-licensed prescription medication.
Grisham admitted to violating a parole agreement that prevents him from having a firearm.
Grisham is on parole for
several drug and battery convictions in Kansas. He's currently in jail on $200,000 bond, mainly because prosecutors are certain he intended to kidnap a child. He had sunglasses rigged up with a small video camera that he was using to videotape children. He also told police that if he bonded out,
he'd never come back to Ohio again.
As hard as it may be to imagine, the fact a convicted felon somehow got his hands on three guns and 4,000 rounds is at least as scary as the prospect that a child was almost kidnapped. Hopefully somebody will be able to find out how this was to happen.
