With Geraldo gloating about the evils of hoodies and everybody talking about how the hoodie is reason for Trayvon Martin to be hunted down and killed, I remembered an initial transcript of the conversation between Trayvon and his girlfriend found here. Key point (my bold)
"He said this man was watching him, so he put his hoodie on. He said he lost the man," Martin's friend said. "I asked Trayvon to run, and he said he was going to walk fast. I told him to run but he said he was not going to run."
If this is accurate, the hoodie did not come up until after Trayvon noticed that he was being stalked. The hoodie was not part of Zimmerman's profiling of Martin. Again, being an early report it could be inaccurate but if true the hoodie should not be broadcast as the reason Trayvon Martin's life had less or negative societal value and made him worthy of lynching.
