Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has published this 105-page report on the 18 most corrupt governors in America.
For those of you who don't want to comb through a 105-page PDF file, here's CREW's "Worst Governors in America" page.
If I am reading the list correctly, all but two of the eighteen dirtiest governors in America are Republicans, and all six of the "ringmasters", or the dirtiest of the dirty governors, are Republicans.
The two Democrats on CREW's list are Andrew Cuomo (NY), a friend of Wall Street, and Steve Beshear (KY), a friend of King Coal.
You can also vote for who you think is the worst of what CREW considers to be the six most corrupt governors, all of which are Republicans, here. The choices are Nathan Deal (GA), Rick Scott (FL), Paul LePage (ME), Rick Perry (TX), Bob McDonnell (VA), and Scott Walker (WI), and all six of them are downright crooked. Remember, vote for who you think is the most corrupt of the most corrupt.
As an Illinoisan, that is the first time I've ever seen an organization list a group of corrupt governors, and our state's governor is NOT one of the ones listed. However, the fact that the vast majority of governors in this country who have corrupt reputations are Republicans proves that political corruption is a conservative value.
