Another successful Los Angeles Kossacks meetup. Around 16 of us assembled at Rush Street in Culver City to spend a few hours together, well, socializing and deepening bonds of friendship that already existed. Unfortunately, SanFernandoValleyMom was out of town attending to family business, which means I had to take the pictures myself (this is a literary trope known as "lowering your expectations"). For example, the link to the restaurant is to the brunch menu, because, well, I was so busy socializing that I forgot to take any food pr0n pictures. The food was good, too.
So follow me below the divider doodle to some pictures of happy, engaged Kossacks.

And about the t-shirt I'm wearing. It's from the Kos Katalogue, specifically from Graphic Designs, which markets art done by Marko the Werelynx. This is called "Unexpected Company" and it's his rendering of a tea-bird. All the pictures pico (whose request not to be photographed we respected) took of it turned out blurry, so here's the one from the site:
Our next meetup is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 17, and we have two contenders, both accessible from the Gold Line. The
Chado Tea Room, across the street from the Little Tokyo Station, and
Saladang Song, three blocks from the Del Mar Station, where we rolled out the red carpet for
navajo and
Meteor Blades in June. Feel free to express your preference in the comments. Given the fact that we think we should be attracting even more people, we might be moving back downtown in September.
